Skydance Paramount Plans to Cut Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – News
Skydance Paramount is scheduled to initiate large-scale job cuts during the week starting 27 October, cutting about 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs are a result of the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August with a value of $8.4bn.
Further international job cuts are expected, as the firm aiming to announce complete information during its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.
Prior news had indicated the firm aimed to reduce between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.
As of December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance has not yet commented to a request for comment.
