Chopper Twirls Out of Control into Palm Groves at Well-Known Southern California Beach
An aircraft flying over a popular California shoreline abruptly commenced twirling out of control, eventually descending rapidly and crashing into a line of palm trees as spectators looked on.
Videos shared on social media show the helicopter starting to spin near Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the edge of the beach, where it ends up lodged among palms and a steps close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
Local firefighters said five people were taken to hospital including a pair who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the crash on that day.
Three people on the road were harmed. Specifics on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
